![]() To compare apples to apple, when we think of Pokemon's Viridian Forest, we immediately think of all the Pokemon we can capture there such as Catterpie and Weedle with final evolved encounters of Butterfree and Beedril being so rare and exciting in the early game. The world designs are damn interesting and fun to explore, but for me personally I do feel the level scaling system the game uses for wild Nexomon encounters and tamer battles, do make each region seem a bit less distinct when compared to locations in other games. The characters in this game are so freaking memorable, they all have unique designs and personalities that immediately become apparent upon meeting them which is nice, I find that many RPGs these days only seem to put emphasis on the main character, the main villain and the rival and that's really sad, but here, practically every named character feels 100 unique and memorable and I adore that. But don't let it being a clone discourage you at all, this game has SO much of it's own personality that it more than makes up for it and just because it is a clone, doesn't mean that's ALL it is. Now for the details, holy hell where do I begin? So let's get this out of the way, yes this is a Pokeclone 100% no denying it, the type advantage/weakness system, capture system, status condition systems, item system and battle system are all nearly 1-1 the same as Pokemon, with just a few tweaks here and there, such as Nexomon being able to hold 4 items at once whereas Pokemon only could hold 1, but there's a more limited variety of items to be held. For anyone who doesn't have the time or desire to read this entire review, and I understand if you don't, I'll summarize this way: This is an amazing Pokemon type experience for those who loved Pokemon as a kid, it's got SO much charm and personality and with every single creature design being new (unless you played the mobile game), it captures that magic we all felt as kids playing Pokemon for the first time all over again, but it does so in a way that stays engaging to our older and more experienced minds. ![]() 90% Nintendo SwitchSo I just finished the main storyline and the big post game secret and I have to say, God damn this game was worth every single penny I spent on it and more, I loved my time with this so much that I intend to keep playing it until I 100% it. ![]()
